The idea here was to use a wooden block with dowels and make something without conventional fixings.
we worked with a subtractive process, taking material away as we want along and then combined the two volumes into a developed form.
I was thinking about physical presence as a conceptual approach to the making, but as we ran out of time at the end of the studio, and due to the slow nature of the subtractive wood forming medium, I felt that this was closer to a emotional absence than physical presence, though after some time past I realized that it was only my personal perception of the piece and being influenced by the process rather than the sculpture demonstrating this idea.
