With this weeks theme of The Art of Other Materials and our theme for the collaborative project of Transform / Down-cycle I Decided to include this Man Ray work as it perfectly illustrates what we discussed. consider the Iron, it can't be used for clothes anymore as the nails are in the way, likewise the nails are rendered useless by being attached to the iron. thus we end up looking at this sculpture that shows elements of both things, the nails feel very heavy, and the Iron feels very sharp - contrasting with their intended purposes while still demonstrating the uniqueness of the objects.
